Drum Spirals

At CPW, we offer Drum Spirals as a means to elevate or lower your product. This way of elevating and lowering is more gentle on your product as opposed to a Gripper unit as the Spiral does not grip the product, the product rides on the belting. Drum Spirals can also be used as a buffer for your product if some travel time is required for your application.

Two motors are included with this piece of equipment, one which rotates the drum and the other motor  will be the belt take up motor. Included is a drive cabinet which will house the two frequency drives for the Spiral. These drives are matched to make sure that the unit operates correctly as the drum will run somewhat faster than the belt speed.

Our Spiral units use a standard "off the shelf" style of belting. These are a side flexing modular plastic belt that can be prepared in a wide variety of widths. Our Drum Spirals are sized to you specific application; belt width, drum diameter, infeed elevation, discharge elevation, loading and speed. These units are very flexible and can be fitted to your special application requirements.
